Invitation to the 59th Congress and General Assembly of the Korean Association of Maxillofacial Plastic and Reconstruction Surgeons (KAMPRS)
The Congress is recognized as one of the representative fall festivals with many rich events such as academic programs and equipment exhibitions optimized for dentists, who have specialized in oral and maxillofacial surgery or plastic and reconstructive surgery, staff, and workers in the related industries. It is a great honor to hold our festival, “the 59th Congress of the KAMPRS (KAMPRS 2020),” organized by the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Ewha Womans University. This year, we will provide various programs, including lectures from two overseas speakers, symposiums led by domestic speakers, special lectures, and a memorial lecture.
In particular, the academic programs and exhibitions of the KAMPRS are expected to serve as a turning point for dental medicine and the dental industry, which have been hampered by the COVID-19 outbreak since early this year. We’ve also arranged a session to introduce the basic content of maxillofacial plastic and reconstruction surgery to the development of the latest techniques such as AI and virtual surgery in line with the KAMPRS2020 theme of “From the Basics to Cutting Edge.” The session aims to quench members’ thirst for academic activities and sharing, caused by the cancellations of major academic conferences in the first half of the year. Two virtual lectures will be provided. Prof. Park, the Professor and Chair of the Orthodontics Department at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health and an editor of a new TAD textbook will hold a lecture on "Anterior Open bite Correction: Surgery vs. TADs. “Meanwhile, Prof. Kademani from the North Memorial Cancer Center and author of Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery will give a talk on “Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Replacement Surgery.” Moreover, we’ve organized a guest lecture to celebrate the retirement of Ryu Dong-Mok, a professor at Kyung Hee University and advisor at the KAMPRS.
KAMPRS executives and the organizing committee preparing KAMPRS 2020 promise to live up to your expectations by safely operating the event.
KAMPRS 2020 will prioritize the safety of participating members and implement the highest level of quarantine measures complying with government and local guidelines. We will thoroughly prepare to ensure fruitful conferences and exhibitions with the lowest density and higher efficiency. We hope you could be a part of the KAMPRS’s present and future by visiting KAMPRS 2020 held from Oct 29 to 31.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the invited speakers locally and abroad for giving great lectures despite their busy schedules, and to the members who have actively participated. In addition, I am grateful to the members of the organizing committee, and the members and alumni of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Ewha Womans University for ensuring the success of KAMPRS 2020.
